Legacies Collection Opens

In September 2008 the Project inaugurates a new Legacies collection to explore the continuing influence of abolitionist ideas and culture in US society from the Civil War to the early twentieth century.  The Legacies collection, which features original texts, historical introductions, and video, is co-edited by Holly Kent, Joe Lockard, and Zoe Trodd.

Brown University - Steering Committee on Slavery and Justice

University committee appointed in 2003 at Brown University to investigate institutional involvement in the early slave trade. Site contains significant resources, including a series of reports and teaching materials. The committee released its final report in October 2006.
